James Nichols

James Nichols is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Ambition Capital. He brings more than 10 years of hands-on experience working in social media as both an entrepreneur for his own start-ups and strategist for numerous Fortune 500 brands on the agency side.  James’ ability to translate insights and feedback from social media into actionable, metrics-driven strategies is a key differentiator for Ambition Capital.


Previously as a Marketing Strategist at New Media Strategies, James won numerous awards for his contributions to more than 30 campaigns including 10 OEM automotive vehicle launches. He developed and successfully executed social media strategies in collaboration with his Fortune 500 clients including digital outreach, transparent consumer engagement, social media profile evaluation and management, and detailed analysis of online consumer behavior. His work for NMS culminated in January 2010 when he spearheaded NMS’s efforts to become the social media agency of record for Chrysler Group, LLC and Chrysler brands including Dodge, Chrysler, Ram and Jeep.


James also co-founded the BMW automotive message board community, DTMPower.net, in 2000 which he still owns today with over 200,000 unique monthly visitors. The site is often credited with being the first community dedicated to the aftermarket modification and restyling of BMWs. James later opened a European Automotive tuning garage where he upgraded and modified AMG Mercedes, BMW M and Audi S-Line luxury sedans. He has also sold new Porsche & Audi vehicles.


James earned his B.S. in Business Administration from University of Maryland – University College.
